Я вообще-то на псевдорелигиозные маразмы редко обращаю внимание, но этот уж больно хорош.
А вот про презервативы. У нас на кампусе в дневное время сидят за лотками активисты всяких студенческих сообществ, в том числе и просветители из поликлиники. Эти завлекают просвещаться в плане здоровья. В качестве рекламы раздают брошюрки про правильное питание и прозрачные брелки с презервативами внутри. Мне такие очень понравились, я взяла себе.
Еще, оказывается, свой Гиллель тут есть. Надо бы к ним на встречу субботы сходить на следующей неделе. Они пишут, что приходить надо к закату, а закат, представьте себе, будет в 7-40.

Ответственно подтверждаю: были такие программы. Одна из самых старых -- "Best Friends" (Washington, DC). Были и другие, например "Sex Can Wait" и "Responsible Social Values". Другое дело, что некоторые программы сочетали в себе sex education (то есть сведения о репродуктивной системе человека и о сексуальности с "postponement of sexual involvement curriculum" (один коленкор), а в некоторых делался упор именно на "abstinence until marriage", на "values" (совсем другой коленкор).

Notes that teen sexual problems in the US are reaching enormous proportions. Attempts to prevent common problems, pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, are underway through the persistent efforts of community, health, academic and government organizations. Abstinence education is one of the current attempts. However, the lack of well defined theoretical frameworks and analyses of outcomes have limited progress in the study of abstinence education. This article describes a pilot program in abstinence-only education provided to 140 young teens within an urban middle school. The framework for the program, cognitive social learning theory, is described and operationalized. Student pretest-posttest attitudes, open-ended written comments about the program and the researchers' anecdotes about behavioral changes in the students are the outcome measures. Positive attitudes about premarital abstinence increased for all 6 groups; for 4 of the 6 groups the increase was statistically significant. Postponing sexual intercourse among urban junior high school students--A randomized controlled evaluation.

Describes a randomized, controlled evaluation of a school-based intervention to delay sexual intercourse among urban junior high school students. Six junior high schools were randomly assigned to the intervention or nonintervention control condition. The intervention program consisted of reproductive health classes, the Postponing Sexual Involvement Curriculum (M. Howard and J. B. McCabe, 1990), health risk screening, and "booster" educational activities during the following eighth grade year. Surveys assessing intervention and control group differences in virginity, attitudes towards delayed sex and childbearing, and sexual knowledge and behavior were administered to 582 seventh grade students (mean age 12.82 yrs) at baseline, the end of seventh grade, and the beginning and end of the eighth grade. At the end of eighth grade, intervention group females were significantly more likely to report virginity, birth control use at last intercourse, and knowledge of adolescent reproductive health and confidentiality rights, and intervention group males scored significantly higher in knowledge of birth control method efficacy. It is concluded that gender-specific intervention activities that can adequately address the social and cognitive needs of both sexes should be studied.
