Вопрос про Мозиллу в Винде

Друзья, как объяснить WindowsXP, что дефолтный браузер - Mozilla Firefox и что все ссылки из ICQ, WinWord'a и прочих программ следует открывать именно в нем? Я нашла штучку "Выбор программ по умолчанию", задала там что полагается, но все значения тут же сбрасываются. Кто разбирается в этой Лучшей в Мире Операционной Системе, подскажите, пожалуйста!

У меня по ссылкам из ворда открывается именно файрфокс. Все, что мне пришлось для этого сделать - это на вопрос файрфокса "Хочешь ли ты, чтобы я стал твоим по умолчанию браузером" ответить "да".

У меня с этим никогда проблем не возникало, я точно не помню, как это произошло, во всяком случае легко и безболезненно. По-моему, при первом открытии Мозиллы она спросила "сделать меня броузером по умолчанию?", я согласилась, и всегда у меня все в Мозилле открывается.

Нужно удалить ie, тогда выбора точно не будет.

File Type Associations

I think there's another thing to do -- I'm not sure if it's mentioned in any of the other comments, and I don't know the Russian metalanguage for it. But in the Control Panel (under 'classic view') find "Folder Options", and click the tab for "File Types", and there is a whole list of types of files, with defaults for which program should open them. Go through your list, and for any file type that now has IE as its preferred program, change it to Firefox.
I think it's probably not enough to just have Firefox as your default browser.
I don't recommend deleting IE. Every now and then there's something that Firefox has trouble with (for instance, starting up an internet connection in some hotel), and then it's nice to still have IE as a backup system.
(I've been using Firefox and Thunderbird since last fall. Firefox works 99.5% of the time, but for the other .05% I'm glad to still have Explorer.)
